Extra sign-in security

Add a second step when you sign in, so your account is safer even if someone learns your password.

What you can do

  • Use an authenticator app that shows a short code that changes every few seconds.
  • Keep backup codes in case you don't have your phone.
  • Or have a one-time code emailed to you when you sign in.

Once it's on, you'll be asked for the second step every time you log in.

How to use it

  1. Open your profile page.
  2. Set up an authenticator app by scanning the code it shows, then save your backup codes somewhere safe.
  3. If you prefer, turn on emailed codes instead.
  4. Next time you sign in, enter the extra code when asked.

Keep your backup codes safe — they let you back in if you lose access to your app.
